Lustre

#Performance & installation
Year: 2025

Lustre, SungHoon Song and Bryan Yueshe Wu‘s latest collaboration, is a digital installation that materialises the Korean concept of Yunsul—the interplay of natural light breaking and scattering on rippling water—through digital media. The work combines physical movement, visual imagery, and soundscapes to explore how humans infer the infinite through direct perception. Just as rustling trees allow us to sense the presence of distant wind, Yunsul visualises the invisible and infinite energy of water through the medium of light.

By sensorially transforming the representation of infinity, Lustre highlights the boundless energy of nature, encouraging viewers to engage with phenomena that transcend the tangible. This work represents the artists’ shared interest in integrating sound and visual elements to reframe natural processes and existential themes, creating an immersive space for contemplation and sensory exploration.

Together, Bryan and SungHoon push the boundaries of media art, crafting installations that blend technology, nature, and human experience into profound artistic expressions.
